Frequently asked questions

Who can apply?

The program is built for venture-backed startups building agentic workflows that need payments or card issuance. We prioritize autonomous purchasing agents, procurement agents, travel and expense agents, marketplace agents, and agent platforms.

How do I apply?

Submit a short application through the form on this page. Admitted teams complete KYB, and onboarding begins from there.

When do cohorts begin and when are applications open?

Cohort one runs from August to October 2026, with applications open in July. Cohort two runs from November 2026 to January 2027, with applications opening in October. Details on future cohorts will be posted here as they are confirmed.

What are the qualifying criteria?

Your agentic use case should be in production or near production rather than a concept, with a real need for card issuance or agent-initiated spend. Teams should have raised a pre-seed, seed, or Series A round from institutional investors.

Is the $5,000 spending credit cash?

No. The credit is usage-tied and spent through your Rain cards for agentic use cases, or applied to money movement costs tied to your virtual accounts.

What is the time commitment?

Each cohort includes biweekly check-ins with the Rain team, standing office hours, and one structured interview per startup each month. Most of the time goes toward building and shipping on your own timeline.

Do we need to be a Rain customer already?

No. The program onboards you onto Rain's platform if you are not already building with us.

What data do we share with Rain?

Transaction data and integration learnings that help us build better infrastructure for agentic use cases. Insights shared beyond your team are aggregated.

What happens after the cohort ends?

Startups transition to standard Rain pricing, with referral incentives for introducing other developer teams. Strong performers become reference customers and co-author case studies with us.

How long does a cohort run?

Each cohort runs about ten weeks of active building, inside a quarterly program window that spans application through graduation.
